Sites of Interest

There are many national organizations dedicated to providing support for law students and attorneys involved in or interested in getting involved in public service work.  A few of the major associations are identified below:

Government Honors & Internship Handbook, available here

The Government Honors & Internship Handbook is an online resource for law students who are seeking out governmental internships.  It provides a listing of both state and federal internships. The Handbook is produced annually by the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.  UMKC law students may access the Handbook by logging onto TWEN and then selecting "Career Services."  The password for accessing the Handbook is also on the TWEN site under "Career Services."

Equal Justice Works

www.equaljusticeworks.com

Equal Justice Works has collaborated with the nation’s leading law schools, law firms, corporate legal departments and nonprofit organizations to provide the training and skills that enable lawyers to provide effective representation to vulnerable populations.  They also provide the nation’s leading public interest law fellowship program and offer more postgraduate, full-time legal positions in public service than any other organization.

PSLawNet

www.pslawnet.org

PSLawNet is an online resource for law students and attorneys who are seeking out public interest internships, fellowships, or full-time employment, as well as pro bono opportunities.  In addition to databases, PSLawNet offers a virtual library to assist law students and attorneys seeking public interest opportunities.  Self-help content includes a comprehensive calendar of public interest career fairs, a “Fellowship Corner” with application tips and deadlines for numerous legal fellowships, a summer funding resources page for public interest internships, publications donated by subscriber schools, and much, much more.\
