Introduction: Lexis and Westlaw "Terms and Connector" searches empower the user with a great deal of control.  They do this by utilizing a highly-developed system of commands and operators (known as “connectors”) to link individual search terms.  These connectors utilize traditional boolean logic (and, or, not, etc.) as well as many other specialized commands (e.g., string, proximity, character replacement, nesting and date restriction commands).
