Other Appellate Competition Opportunities

There are various opportunities to participate in intra-school appellate moot court competitions.  Most of these will now be coordinated through the Moot Court Board.

In some cases, opportunities will be announced by faculty.  Those announcements will be listed here.

John Marshall Law School Moot Court Competition in Information Technology & Privacy

            - Registration is due by June 15, 2007.

                        - Each school can enter one team consisting of 2 or 3 members.

Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association Moot Court Competition

            - Registration is due by June 30.

            - Competition dates are October 26 and 27, 2007 in Chicago, IL.

Loyola Tax Trial Advocacy Competition

            - Registration is due by July 15.

Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition

            - Registration is from June 1 to August 10.

                        - Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis (only 30 teams).

University of San Diego National Criminal Procedure Tournament

- Regular registration is from July to August.

Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition

            - Registration is due by August 29.

                        - Can enter two teams.

The National Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Competition (John Marshall)

            - Registration is due by September.

                        - Competition is limited to 20 teams.

Niagara International Moot Court Competition (Case Western)

            - Registration begins in September and ends in October.

                        - Each school can enter one team and is comprised on 2 to 4 members with a faculty supervisor.

Asylum and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition (UC Davis)

            - Priority registration begins in September and ends in October.

            - General registration begins in October and ends in November.

National Constitutional Law Moot court Competition (Regent University)

            - Registration begins in October and ends November.

                        - May register up to two three-person teams (full time or part time students).

            - Competition Dates are February 9 & 10 in Virginia Beach, VA.

National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (Pace University)

            - Registration is due by September 26.

                        - Limited to one team per school (first 72 schools that apply). Acceptance is determined on a “first come, first served” basis.

National First Amendment Moot Court Competition (Vanderbilt University)

            - Registration is due by October.

                        - Open to 32 two-member teams (2nd and 3rd year students only). If the competition is over-subscribed, admission will be based on the quality of                        the team and the school’s commitment to the competition.
