National Appellate Advocacy Competition

We are considering participation in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) this winter.  There are some scheduling difficulties with respect to the Regional rounds, but we are exploring the possibility of going.  While the scheduling will be a large factor in whether we participate, another large factor is UMKC's ability to field a competitive team or two.  Thus, we are assessing student interest.

 B.  Why you are interested in this particular competition. 

 C.  The general topic this year is the Fourth Amendment and the Sentencing Reform Act.  Do you have a special interest or background in this area?

 D.  Please describe any prior appellate advocacy experience that you have.  

 E.  Please describe any other experience demonstrating proficiency in oral advocacy (public speaking, debate, etc.) as well as any significant writing experience, particularly those demonstrating proficiency in advocacy writing.
