Take Home Midterm Exam Rules - Fall 2003
The following are the rules relating to the take home exam. Any questions about interpretation should be addressed to me. If, however, the question could in any manner impair anonymity, it should be written and given to Nicole Francis, Director of Student Services. She will obtain an answer for you.
The exam will be given out after Property on Friday, October 17th at 2:15 p.m..
The completed exam, including question sheet and your answer, must be returned no later than 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2003 to the Reception Desk in the Administrative Suite.
Once you have picked up the exam, you may not discuss it in any way with anyone until Monday, October 20, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.
Once you have read the exam, you may spend a maximum of four consecutive hours working on it. This includes time spent reading it, thinking, outlining, consulting materials, writing, typing and editing.
You may use any materials you have used to prepare for class and study for the exam, but only those materials. This is not a research project, and you are not to consult library materials other than those you have used in preparing prior to receiving the test, nor are you to use computer research services.
You may, but are not required to, use a word processor or computer in preparing your answer. You should not use a blue book. Do not use a font smaller than 11 point. If you type, DOUBLE SPACE. If you hand write, write on ONE SIDE OF THE PAGE ONLY. Points will be deducted for failure to follow these rules.
Number the pages of your answer, preferably indicating 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc. Make sure your exam number is on all pages of your answer. Do not put your name anywhere on the question or answer sheet.
Violation of the four hour rule or the rules regarding consultation with others or with outside materials will be considered Honor Code violations. In addition, violation of rules regarding time spent, consultation or lateness will lead to assessment of penalties in grading irrespective of action or inaction by the Honor Court.
If any problems arise during this exam, please call Nicole Francis at 235-1654. I have no authority to make exceptions or give extensions.
I have carefully read and have abided by these rules.
