If you select All Neg, all but five of the citations will be eliminated. Romer v. Evans and Patrick v. Le Fevre indicate that Davis v. Beason is either being overruled or was previously overruled.  What is interesting is that Patrick v. Le Fevre (which was a Second Circuit case) precedes Romer (a Supreme Court case) by 12 years in announcing that Davis v. Beason, or at least a part of it, has been overruled.

Image showing pedegree of a case and highlighting subsequent citing casesNote too that the cautionary flags  apply, not to Davis v. Beason (the case being Shepardized), but to the cases citing (and overruling) Davis.

If flags are not visible, you will need to change your options settings to view the Shepard's signals.

Thus, it is possible to see from the electronic version of Shepard's whether a case that overrules, overturns or criticizes an earlier case is itself subject to subsequent negative treatment.  This is a real advantage over the print product of Shepard's.

If you select the link to Patrick v. Le Fevre, . . .
