The following problems will
be done in the instructional session with a librarian. Please skip
for until your class session.
Problem 1: Using the IDEN database of databases, try to find
a source explaining Illinois state income tax law. Use the connector
and or quote marks around a phrase to string together the terms
of your search phrase. If you don't have a window open all ready for Westlaw,
click here to login. Search hints! Problem 2:
Using "Lexis" find a database which contains cases for the Federal Seventh Circuit as well as for Illinois state courts. To sign onto Lexis click here. Problem 3: A partner at your firm wants a good explanation from a secondary source on the legal issues of the "information industry." Specifically, she wants something from a treatise by Nimmer (the Nimmers are well-known authors of treatises on copyright and intellectual property). Can you find something on Lexis or Westlaw? |
